I want you to be among the first to know that County Council Member Samuel H. Dean will be launching his campaign to become the next County Executive of Prince George’s County.
My husband Sam has made this decision after much thought and prayer and at the encouragement of many friends and constituents who he has had the honor to serve as an elected member of the Prince George’s County Council for District 6.
Over the past seven years that Sam has served on the County Council, he has come to be viewed as one of Prince George’s County’s strongest and most effective advocates for education and equity inclusion of minority and local businesses. A life-long community activist who is passionate about education, he successfully advocated for the construction of several new schools in the County, helped launch the five-year strategic plan for the Prince George’s Community College and sponsored the creation of a Blue Ribbon Committee on High Stakes Testing that looks at the impact of high school assessments. Tireless and experienced, Sam has the commitment and understanding to initiate legislation that makes a positive difference in the lives of the residents of Prince George’s County. And his expertise and ability to form coalitions means the job gets done, which in this political atmosphere is critical for progress to be made. This is the passion, experience, and proven track record Sam will bring to the office of County Executive. And that’s why it is essential that we begin now to build a campaign that will ensure Sam succeeds in the upcoming election.
